The Virtual University, Pakistan’s first University based completely on modern Information and Communication Technologies, was established by the Government as a public sector, not-for-profit institution with a clear mission: to provide extremely affordable world class education to aspiring students all over the country. VU believes that research & knowledge creation play very important role to strengthens and upgrade the ranking of university and also for community, industrial and economic development of Pakistan at broader spectrum.
In compliance with the Higher Education Commission’s directive, Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) was established in 2013 at Virtual University of Pakistan. Since inception to date ORIC is operating at VU as a permanent department with mission to uplift the university as community makers and promote knowledge based economy.
What is ORIC ? ORIC at VU is a focal point which functions as an umbrella of the university and deals with all activities pertaining to research and development, innovation and commercialization, collaborations and consultancies, startups and entrepreneurship, trainings/ seminars/ workshops/ symposia and conferences.
